What in the world? Why might you want to send this graphic to your followers and prospects?

There’s a very good reason. Let me explain …

Staying Top-Of-Mind With Your Audience

When you stay in touch with your audience, you stay top-of-mind.

And when you stay top-of-mind, they don’t forget you.

And when they don’t forget you, more of them buy.

So it pays to stay in touch. And one of the easiest ways to stay in touch is to send Holiday Greetings throughout the year. Advantages — They’re never pushy. Nobody ever takes offence. It positions you and your organization as good people. It conveys the message that you care about them.

When to Send Holiday Greetings

This is fairly easy at the end of the year when three large bank holidays appear quickly. (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.) But in other months?

But in other months there are no major bank holidays at all. And even when you do have major holidays, it would be useful if there were other, minor holidays when you could wish them well.

And there are some easy solutions. (In a minute, I’ll tell you how to get great posts to send, for free, and even a reminder system if you want it.)

  1. You can send holiday greetings on the occasional fun or “wacky” holidays, such as National Ice Cream Day, or International Talk Like a Pirate Day. A quick google search for “wacky holidays” will find all you need.
    .
  2. You can send “Time of Year” greetings, such as Back to School, or Spring Cleaning, or Summertime! .
    .
  3. And when there’s no appropriate wacky or fun holiday, you can always bank on significant past cultural events.

King Kong terrorizes Fay Wray in the classic monster movie, which premiered March 7, 1933

Sometimes these might be related to your occupation. For example a school for chiropractors might post the birthday of Daniel David Palmer, often considered the founder of chiropractic.

Other possibilities include landmark cultural events, such as the premier of the original King Kong movie, starring Fay Wray. It was astounding to people at the time, and now appears like a benign and strange past event. You can often find events of this kind with a google search for the phrase “on this day.”

How Often to Send Holiday Greetings?

If you’re an active communicator to your audience, sending emails, frequent posts, you could possible send a holiday greeting more often, but twice a month is probably enough to do the job of staying in touch without ever being  pushy.

And if you frequently outreach with useful information, or with offers, then holiday posts will “water down” the flow, making it more mellow, less pushy, and more human.
